Which Class Is Right for Me?
Choosing a class can feel confusing at first, especially if you are new to meditation or yoga, returning after time away, or unsure what your body needs right now.
Tiroana classes are welcoming, practical, and supportive. You do not need to be experienced, flexible, or confident before you begin. You simply need to choose a starting point that feels realistic for you.
If you want to learn meditation
PAUSE — Mindfulness Meditation
PAUSE is a guided meditation class designed to help you develop practical mindfulness skills in a calm and approachable way.
You can sit on the floor, use a chair, or lie down. There is no expectation to clear your mind, sit perfectly still, or already know how meditation works.
PAUSE may suit you if you:
Feel mentally busy, overstimulated, or tired
Want practical tools for stress, sleep, or everyday life
Are curious about meditation but unsure where to start
Already meditate and would like guidance, structure, or community
Also keep an eye out for the Meditation Foundations Workshop, offered at selected times throughout the year.
If you want a steady and supportive yoga class
UNFOLD — Hatha Yoga
UNFOLD is a steady, breath-aware Hatha yoga class with standing, seated, and floor-based postures.
Postures are generally practised individually, giving you time to understand each shape, use props, and build confidence without needing to continuously flow from one movement to the next.
UNFOLD may suit you if you:
Are new to yoga or returning after time away
Want to improve strength, balance, and mobility
Prefer a steady pace with time to settle into each posture
Want an active class without a continuous flowing sequence
Beginners are welcome. It is helpful to feel reasonably comfortable moving between standing and the floor.
If you want a more active yoga practice
EXHALE — Slow Flow Yoga
EXHALE is a breath-led flow class and is Tiroana’s most physically active and challenging weekly class.
Although the pace is intentional rather than rushed, postures are linked together into flowing sequences. This requires more strength, stamina, coordination, balance, and confidence with transitions.
EXHALE may suit you if you:
Want a stronger and more energising yoga practice
Enjoy linking movement with the breath
Want to build stamina, strength, and balance
Feel comfortable transitioning between standing and the floor
Have some previous yoga or movement experience
Have attended UNFOLD and feel ready for more challenge
Beginners are welcome, but if you are completely new to yoga or returning after a long break, UNFOLD is generally the better starting point.
If you want slower stretching and stillness
SOFTEN — Yin Yoga
Women-only class
SOFTEN is a floor-based Yin yoga practice using longer-held postures, props, supported stretching, and stillness.
Although Yin is slow, it is not necessarily easy. You will remain in postures for several minutes and work with stretching, physical sensation, and quiet observation.
SOFTEN may suit you if you:
Feel tight through the hips, legs, spine, or shoulders
Want a slower and more meditative style of yoga
Are looking to balance a busy or active lifestyle
Feel comfortable getting down to and up from the floor
You do not need to be flexible or experienced, but Yin does involve longer-held stretches and time on the floor.
If getting down to the floor is difficult
EMBODY — Chair Yoga
EMBODY is gentle yoga adapted for seated and chair-supported practice.
It is designed to support mobility, balance, strength, coordination, and confidence without requiring you to get down to the floor.
EMBODY may suit you if you:
Find floor transitions difficult, uncomfortable, or unsafe
Are managing injury, fatigue, reduced mobility, or balance concerns
Are returning to movement after time away
Want gentle and adaptable movement with practical support
No yoga experience is needed.
If you want deep rest rather than exercise
SURRENDER & REST
Women-only monthly session
SURRENDER & REST is a two-hour restorative yoga experience incorporating supported postures, Yoga Nidra meditation, and crystal singing bowls.
There is no flowing movement, deep stretching, strengthening, or physical effort required. You will be fully supported with bolsters, blankets, and props while being guided into deeper rest.
This session may suit you if you:
Feel overstimulated, depleted, or emotionally tired
Find it difficult to slow down
Want deep relaxation without physical exertion
Feel in need of a longer pause
No yoga or meditation experience is needed.
If you are looking for connection and community
Tiroana is a small and welcoming studio with many regular attendees.
There is no pressure to socialise or know anyone when you arrive. Connection often grows naturally through returning, practising alongside familiar faces, and sharing a calm space together.
Every class offers an opportunity to make time for movement, mindfulness, rest, and wellbeing within a supportive community.
